For many children, starting in pre-school is their first step towards independence.

At Riccall Pre-school our aim is to help them mix socially and to develop through a wide range of experiences and activities in a well-resourced, purpose-built, safe and happy environment.

Encouraging curious, active young discoverers with a drive to learn

With the emphasis on learning through play, activities on offer include imaginative play, baking, singing, painting, water play, craft, junk modelling, maths activities, construction, and dressing up.
We have secure gardens and outdoor play areas, zoned for different uses. Children can use a wide range of outdoor toys, and we even have a reading shed for outdoor quiet time!
We are the first choice for a smooth transition between early years setting and Riccall CP School because we are situated on the Riccall Primary School site, and our children enjoy a series of visits to the primary school during their final summer term.
We pride ourselves on ensuring an equally easy transition to our surrounding community schools such as Escrick, North Duffield and Barlby for those continuing on somewhere other than Riccall CP School.
We use the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework to plan and provide a range of play activities which help children to make progress in each of the areas of learning and development.

In our latest Ofsted inspection report, we are proud to have been judged as Good in early years provision
